Simple cremation, otherwise known as Direct Cremation, is a service provided by funeral homes to families who wish to have their loved ones be cremated and needing assistance through the process of taking care of their loved one and navigating the process of obtaining the necessary permits, certificates, and cremation process. This type of service does not involve any sort of rites or services that are had for the loved one, but instead focuses on the necessities of the family to have some take care of the steps for the cremation process.

Please be aware, most funeral homes and cremation providers generally do not include in their direct cremation pricing, but have additional charges for:

·     In person consultation
·     Obituary preparation and publication on their website
·     Additional cremation fee for individual in excess of 300 pounds
·     Out of state fees
·     Sheltering and storage of cremated remains
·     Removal of implanted medical devices
·     Cash advance items (medical examiner fee, crematory fee, cremation permit, death certificates)
·     Final viewing before cremation

Our charge for Direct Cremation includes:

·     Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff
·     Transportation of Remains to Funeral Home
·     Local Transport to Crematory
·     Alternative Cremation Container (Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition material with or without an outside covering. The containers we provide are: Corrugated & Plywood Container.)
·     Secure and file death certificate and all necessary permits and fees required for cremation
·     Assistance in obtaining Social Security Benefits and Veterans Administration Benefits
·     Cash Advance Items (Cremation Permit, Medical Examiner Fee, Crematory Fee)
·     Six Certified Copies of the Death Certificate ($10/ Certified Copy)
