John E. Sullivan, age 93 loving husband for 68 years of the late Barbara (Randall) Sullivan of Salem, MA, died Sunday morning at the Wingate of Haverhill, Nursing Home, in Haverhill, MA. Born in Peabody, the son of the late John and Mabel (Hunter) Sullivan, he was educated in Peabody schools, graduating from Peabody High School. Mr. Sullivan married Barbara in 1942, then immediately enlisted in The US Navy, serving during WWII. When the war ended, Mr. Sullivan and his wife moved to Arizona, where he started a teaching career. They then moved to Salem, MA where they raised their six children. When Mr. Sullivan wasn't teaching, he enjoyed
running a lobster boat in the summers. He and his wife enjoyed travel to Ireland, but most of all loved their family and spending time with their children, and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife as well as a brother, Robert Sullivan. He is survived by his children: Joyce Ingoldsby of Danvers, MA, Juan Sullivan and Wife, Anne Sullivan of Montesano, WA, Timothy Sullivan and Wife, Dianne Sullivan of Kittery, ME, Kathy Mullins of Salem, MA, Blaise Sullivan of Bradford, MA, Christopher Sullivan of Bradford, MA, 14 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grandchildren.

John's visiting hours will be held on Friday April 22, 2016 from 4PM to 8PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street (corner of North Street) Salem, MA. The funeral will take place on Saturday April 23, 2016 at 11AM, also at the Murphy Funeral Home. Friends and Family are warmly invited to attend.
