Yolande A. Bickerton, age 93, of Swampscott, formerly of Salem, died Tuesday January 13, 2009 in the Jewish Rehabilitation Center, Swampscott. Over the last five years she has received wonderful care from the JRC staff.
Born in Salisbury England, November 18, 1915 the daughter of the late Bertie and Heddie (Taylor) Bickerton, she traveled the world in her younger years and enjoyed life and nature. After leaving England in the 1950's she moved to South Salem and became a secretary of a fabric importing business in Peabody.
She is survived by her dear friends Irene Breault, Jim Gauthier and Linda DiIanni.
Miss Bickerton was predeceased by a sister Audrey Bickerton and her niece Jacqueline Dear who had both resided in England.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Salem.
