Winnifred (Nickerson) Estelle, age 82, wife of the late Robert D. Estelle, died Thursday evening December 12, 2013 at Beverly Hospital. Born in Marblehead, daughter of the late Herman W. and Gertrude (Gove) Nickerson, she was raised in Marblehead. Mrs. Estelle graduated from Marblehead High School in the class of 1949. Following High School, Mrs. Estelle was employed with Holyoke Insurance in Salem. At the time of her marriage to Robert, she became a homemaker and enjoyed being home raising her family. As her children got older, she returned to the work force part time at the Warren Five Cents Savings Bank, working as a loan officer.

Mrs. Estelle relocated from Peabody to East Kingston, NH and continued her career full time as a Loan Officer for the Seabrook Bank, until it was acquired. Upon her husband Robert's passing, she moved to Sun City Center, FL until returning to live with her daughter, Barbara McCarthy in May of 2013. While living in Florida, Mrs. Estelle was a member of the Red Hats and TOPS. She was a member of the Lakeshore Park Methodist Church in Peabody. Mrs. Estelle very much enjoyed traveling and going to the movies.

Surviving her are three children, Brian Estelle and his wife Leigh of Newmarket, NH, Barbara McCarthy of Danvers, Sharon Hume and her husband John of Silver Spring, MD; three brothers, Herman "Nick" Nickerson of Marblehead, Eldon "Louie" Nickerson and his wife Janice of Exeter, NH, Ernest Nickerson and his wife Cecile of Lynn; one sister, Bernice Woodfin and her husband Ellis of Apollo Beach, FL, 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Leslie Nickerson, Barbara Curtis and Bradlee Nickerson.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem on Friday December 20, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow at the Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
