Winifred A. Fouhey, age 88, a lifelong resident of Salem died at home unexpectedly Sunday evening.
Daughter of the late Frederick and Winnifred (Tierney) Fouhey, she was educated in Salem schools graduating from Salem High School in the Class of 1938. Miss Fouhey then became employed by Parker Brothers Games in Salem for more than 40 years and was a member of the Parker Brothers Quarter Century Club. She retired as a Forelady, supervising the manufacturing of various games.
She was also a lifelong parishioner of St. James Church where she had been active with the St. James Socialites and had also been active with the A.A.R.P.
Miss Fouhey is survived by two nephews, Retired Wakefield Firefighter, James Lilley and Harry Lilley both of Wakefield; a dear, lifelong friend Margaret Hagerty of Salem and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sister Eileen M. Fouhey and Mary Lilley, and two brothers Frederick Fouhey and Edward Fouhey.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday July 2, at 9:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in ST. James Church, 161 Federal St., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flower memorial contributions are requested to the St. James Church Altar Fund, 161 Federal St. Salem, MA 01970.
