Marblehead
William R." Sonny" Weslanski, age 79, of Marblehead , died Sunday, September 12, 2010 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers.
Born in Lynn the son of the late William B. and Mary E. (Frautten) Weslanski, he was raised and educated in Swampscott, graduating from Swampscott High School in the Class of 1949. Mr. Weslanski then became employed by the former Bettger Oil Company as a serviceman and later by Monarch Meat on Canal St in Salem until moving to California .
Mr. Weslanski was then employed by Ellay Rubber as a machine operator and color matcher for 10 years until he returned to Marblehead . He enjoyed being back on the North Shore with his many friends, became an active member of the Marblehead V.F.W while working part time in the laundry department of the Devereaux Nursing Home.
Mr. Weslanski is survived by five children William R. Weslanski and his wife Daryl of Whittier, CA, Mary W. Weslanski of Phelan, CA, Dana John Weslanski of Lindsborg, KS, Susan.L Vanny and her husband Ray, of San Diego, CA, and William J. Weslanski and his wife Michelle of Hanahan, SC; three sisters M. Lorraine Conroy of Yerington, NV, Virginia Giguere of Lynn and Emily M Morgan of Marblehead; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 17th from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem, to be followed by funeral services at 12 Noon in the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn .
