William Harold Pitman, 79 son of the late Jacob H. and Marian "Gill" Pitman, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Peabody, William attended Middleton schools and soon after graduating became a coppersmith; a profession that he would enjoy for over 25 years. William was also self employed as a carpenter and had a great passion for wood working. William had many loves including his parakeet Angelbird, antique cars, tractors, and agriculture, but the most important love of his life was his family which was everything to him.

William is survived by his loving wife for 57 years, Jeannie "Bullerwell" Pitman. His daughter Susan Santos and her husband Michael of Salem, his daughter Lucinda Healey and her husband David of Antrim, New Hampshire, his daughter Lisa Finkenzeller and her husband Jay of Salem, his son William Pitman Jr. and his wife Sharon of Salem, his son Timothy Pitman and Cathy Baldasare of Beverly. He is also survived by his grandchildren Barry Eliuk and his wife Gabby, Nathaniel Verrette and his wife Jennifer, Emily Verrette, Kiley Morgan, Kayla Morgan, and his great granddaughter Haley Eliuk as well as his faithful companion Angelbird.

Visiting hours for William will take place on Friday April 29, 2016 from 4 to 8PM at the Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal Street (corner of North St.) Salem, MA 01915. His funeral will take place on Saturday April 30, 2016 at 10:30AM, all guests will meet at the Wesley Methodist Church 8 North Street Salem, MA 01970. Internment will take place immediately following the service at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park and Cemetery, 185 Lake Street Peabody, MA 01960.
