William A. Lussier, age 79, loving husband of Anne "Nancy" (McGrath) Lussier, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 11, 2014 following a long valiant struggle. He was born in Salem the son of Amie and Sophie (Gorski) Lussier. He was a lifelong resident of Salem. He attended St. John the Baptist Elementary School in Salem and graduated in the class of 1952 from Salem High School. Mr. Lussier was a retired Local 42 Teamster enjoying long and short term trucking for many years. He also worked as a roofer in the family business, Lussier Roofing Co.
Mr. Lussier enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, cribbage and dominos. He listened to WEEI Radio daily. He was an avid Boston Sports Fan who was lucky to experience all of his teams win a championship, or two, in his lifetime. While in high school, Mr. Lussier enjoyed playing Baseball and had played softball with the Polish Legion of American Veterans.

In addition to his wife, Nancy with whom he shared 58 years of marriage are his children, Linda (Lussier) McIlvene and her husband Paul of Salem, Christine Lussier and Thomas Lussier both of Salem and James Lussier of Haverhill; his grandchildren, Brian and Brendan McIlvene both of Salem, Lynn Smith and her husband Sgt. Robert Smith of Fort Hood, TX and Staci Bowman and her partner Alex McGrath of Lynn and his great grandchildren Taylor Legacy, Alexia Bowman and Kaelan Smith.

Mr. Lussier's Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem on Monday June 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours at the Funeral Home are on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
