William Kerkorian, age 77, of Salem died in the North Shore Medical Center early Friday morning following a long illness.
Born and raised in Peabody the son of the late John and Osanna (Toumekaim) Kerkorian, he was graduated from Peabody High School and had served in the United States Army during the Korean War. A hard working man, he had held many jobs during his school days. Following his discharge he was employed by the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Co for more than 25 and retired from the Beverly Pattern Company of Beverly.
His passion in life was sports. Mr. Kerkorian was an authority on all the Boston sports teams and also enjoyed both golf and candlepin bowling.
He is survived by two sisters Anna Kerkorian Borodkin and Madeline Jackson of Salem; a sister in law Marie Kerkorian of Peabody; a niece Laura Ridely of Salem and a nephew Robert Jackson of Providence, RI. And many grandnieces and grandnephews.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be immediately before the funeral from 9:30 AM to 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
