William J. "Bill" Anderson, age 60, loving husband of Stella (Godfrey) Anderson with whom he shared 18 years of marriage, of Salem, died at home unexpectedly on Saturday April 21, 2012.
Born, raised and educated in Peabody, the son on the late Raymond and Marie (Whaley) Anderson he enjoyed tinkering on cars and camping. Most of all he loved his family and being with them.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Anderson is survived by two children, Rose Anderson of Beverly and Lester Godfrey of Beverly; a brother Jeff Anderson of Lynn; a sister, Charlotte Anderson and her husband Arthur Hatt of Hamilton; a nephew Artie Hatt of Salem' a sister in law Rose Anderson of Lynn and four grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal ST (cor of North St) Salem. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the funeral home prior to the service, . Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the William Anderson Memorial Fund, c/o Marblehead Bank, Attn.: Susan Osborne, Cummings Center Office
