William H. Dunn, Jr., age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 21, 2011 in an Aruban Hospital surrounded by his loving wife Jeannette M. (Francis) Dunn and his daughter Karen (Dunn) Ferrande.

A longtime resident of Marblehead, he was born in Salem on December 5, 1931, the son of the late William H. Dunn, Sr. and the late Gertrude (Russell) Dunn. and had also been raised by his loving stepmother Mary (Davis) Dunn.

Mr. Dunn was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lynn and of Boston College. Following his graduation he served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division and later owned and operated of Ceramic Coating of Beverly, MA.

In addition to his loving wife of 57 years, and he is survived by his five children Leonard and Marianne Dunn of Beverly, Karen (Dunn) and Dana Ferrande of York, ME, William, III and Jan Dunn of Middleton, Michael Dunn and Joan Hilario of Swampscott, Gail (Dunn) and Steven Tsoukalas of Peabody; 16 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; and his step brothers and sisters William and Marie Davis, Parker and Joan Davis, Evelyn and Greg Chapman and Phyllis and Kenny Scholes.

He was predeceased by his son Mark William Dunn and sister Virginia Dioguardi

Arrangements: Visiting Hours will be on Monday, May 30, 2011 from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor. of North St.) Salem, MA 01970. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Ave. Marblehead, MA 01945. Internment will be private.
