Wendellyn "Wendy" Curtin, 72, passed away in the early morning on Saturday, November 18 at Mass General Hospital in Boston in the company of her children. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of Fran and Wendell Wells. Wendy grew up in Topsfield at "Carl's Cabins" across the street from the Topsfield Fairgrounds. This is where she met the love of her life, Frank. Frank and Wendy got married and moved to Salem where they enjoyed over 50 wonderful years together. Though she held a number of jobs over the years, the job that Wendy was by far the most proud of was raising her 4 children.
Wendy is survived by her four children, Francis Curtin of Salem, Lisa McGrath and her husband Kevin of Georgetown, Chris Curtin of Salem, and Brian Curtin and his wife Jennifer of Hampstead, NH; a sister Martha Swiderski of Hampstead, NH; a brother Walter Wells of Pownal, ME, and a sister Carlene Garron of Moab, Utah. Additionally, Wendy was "Nana" to nine wonderful grandchildren - Sean, Fred, Marisa, Joe, Rachel, Caeley, Michael, Brian, and Jack.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 25 at 11AM at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be on Saturday prior to services from 9AM to 11AM.
