Schmittner
June 7, 1952 – August 1, 2025
Warren Paul Schmittner, a beloved husband, "brother", and friend, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on June 7, 1952, in Winthrop, son of the late Warren G and Virginia (Schneider) Levesque, Warren spent the majority of his life in Salem-a community that embraced his generous spirit and warm-hearted nature.
A proud graduate of the Salem High School class of 1971, Warren exemplified dedication and perseverance in every aspect of his life. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as an electrician with Moulison Electric Company and electrician and mechanic with the Solo Cup Company, where he played a crucial role in keeping the assembly lines running smoothly. His diligence and craftsmanship were respected by all who worked alongside him.
Warren was married for 42 wonderful years to his loving wife, Dianne (Bellew) Schmittner. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Warren's greatest joys were found in his family and the activities that brought them together.
An avid outdoorsman, Warren took great pride in his boat, which he moored at Salem Willows. Spring and summer were his favorite seasons, often spent on the water, while fall and winter brought him joy through hunting and snowmobiling. His passion for life was infectious, and he always found time to help others, embodying the essence of kindness with his never-ending willingness to lend a hand.
Warren shared an extraordinary bond with Todd Michaud, who was not only his "brother" but his lifelong friend. They were inseparable, having grown up together and embarking on countless adventures that created a lifetime of shared memories.
Warren is survived by his cherished wife, Dianne (Bellew), his beloved "brother" Todd, his sister in law Betty Lou, and several nieces and nephews. Warren was predeceased by his brother Lester Schmittner. He will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visiting hours will be held to honor Warren's life and the indelible mark he left on everyone around him. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate his legacy, sharing stories of love and laughter at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, Salem on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 4pm to 7 pm. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. All who knew Warren are encouraged to join in commemorating a truly remarkable man who loved fiercely and lived fully.
