Virginia M. "Creedon" Manning passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Monday January 15, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital from a brain aneurysm. She lived at the Fair Weather apartments in Salem, MA where she enjoyed reading mystery novels and taking care of her Maltese.
She was born on August 6, 1937 to her mother Edith MacDonnell and father William J. Creedon. Virginia(Ginny) attended Laboure' College where she obtained her degree in nursing. She was an RN for several years and worked at the Lynn Union Hospital and Salem Hospital before she became disabled from rheumatoid arthritis. Ginny was also known as a great conversationalist, funny and wise. She will be a great loss to her family and little dog, Bella.
Virginia is survived by her sister, Sr. Ruth Creedon and brother, William Creedon. Virginia Manning will also leave her daughter Laura Romano (Manning), son-in law Stephen Romano and three grandsons, Joseph Romano, Christopher Romano and Patrick Romano. She was predeceased by her late husband Warren Manning.
Visiting hours will take place at the Murphy Funeral Home; located on 85 Federal St. Salem, on Sunday January 21, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday January 22, 2018 at St. John the Baptist, located at 17 Chestnut St. Peabody, MA at 10:30 AM.
