Victor M Silva, age 79, husband of Marilene (Assis) Silva, with whom he shared 5 years of marriage, died Wednesday evening June 17, 2015 at his residence. Born in Praia Graciosa, Portugal, he was the son of the late Augusto M. and Elvira daSilva. Victor came to the United States 42 years ago and has resided in Peabody all of this time.
Victor was a very good and proud machinist. He had been employed with Maynard Plastics, Melo's Bakery and at the time of his retirement he was employed with Crane Aerospace in Beverly.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step daughter Izamar Mejia and her husband Carlos and their son Christopher all of Lynn, his former wife Aida Silva, his sisters Maria Pais, Luisa Leitao, his brothers Vinicio and Guilherme, many nieces and nephews, two godchildren Joao Manique and Andrew Silva and many many good friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Jose, Augusto and Vigilio DaSilva.
Funeral Services will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home prior to the services from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Burial will be held privately.
