Obituary

Ursula (Babe) O'Connor, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday January 22,2023.

Ursula was born June 15,1930 in Salem Ma. Daughter of the late Ursula (Keefe) O'Connor, granddaughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Kirby) Keefe. She is also predeceased by her two sisters, Ann LaFortune and husband Phillip, Lucille Hillery and husband John, niece Charlene LaFortune, nephew Johnny (Keefe) Hillery and lifelong partner Nicolas Harris.

Ursula is survived by her nephew and wife Arthur and Jean LaFortune, Great nephew Brett LaFortune, great nieces Renee Mino and husband Aurel, Beth Ross and husband Chris. Great great nieces Kirby LaFortune, Aria Mino and great great nephew Nikolas Mino.

Ursula, a lifelong resident of Salem, attended high school at St. Chretienne Academy, and graduated from Salem State College with her degree in education. She went on to teach first grade in Salem public schools for over 40 years.

Ursula was an active member of St. James Church-Mary Queen of Apostles Parish in Salem.

She enjoyed reading, was a talented seamstress, and cherished her weekly outings with the Gals. Ursula treasured her family and was always smiling brightly.

Visiting hours will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. Salem Monday January 30 from 10-12 followed by a memorial service.
