Obituary
Tyla Ann Thibodeau Theriault, age 52, of Salem, Mass passed away on April 14, 2015 at the Kaplan House, Danvers after a lengthy battle with M.S. and Cancer.
Born and raised in Salem, she attended Salem Elementary schools and Salem High School where she was a field and track athlete who excelled in the High Jump.
She was an amazing Figure Skater and spent many years with the Viking Skating Club winning many local and regional competitions. She was offered a spot in the Ice Follies at the end of her Senior year in high school. Tyla graduated from Salve Regina College, Newport, Rhode Island as a Registered Nurse. She began her career in Nursing at Salem Hospital and then began a 25 year career at the Essex Park Rehabilitation Center, Beverly as a nurse, CNA instructor and MMQ Coordinator until her retirement due to ill health.
Tyla is survived by her mother Janet Osgood -Thibodeau, her daughter Lenyx D. Theriault of Salem, Lenyx's father William Theriault of Beverly, her brother Scott A. Thibodeau and his wife Kathy of Swampscott, her nephew Ross W. Thibodeau and his wife Kim of West Point, NY, her cousin Jo - an (Doyle) Fratini of Marblehead, her best friends Suzanne Provencher of Nahant and Barbie (Swiniski) St. Pierre of Salem and many other friends, co-workers and patients who she loved dearly. She was pre-deceased by her brother Todd W. Thibodeau and nephew Luke S. Thibodeau. In lieu of flowers those who wish may donate to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, Ma 01923. The family will be forever grateful to the Hospice House for the loving care provided to Tyla.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 9:15 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (Cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
