Theresa A. Ruane, age 83 of Salem, died in Salem Hospital Sunday afternoon following a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Salem, and communicant of St. James Church, she was born in Salem the daughter of the late Austin and Sarah (Dunn) Ruane, Sr. She was graduated from St. James Grammar and then had graduated from St. James High School in the Class of 1943. She then received her Bachelor's degree from Burdette College. Miss Ruane was employed for many years at the Essex County Registry of Deeds in Salem until her retirement.
She is survived by a brother Leo Ruane and his wife Janice of Roswell, GA; a sister Sr. Anne Monica Ruane, SND of Ipswich and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers Thomas and Austin M. Ruane, Jr.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 18 from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. James Chapel, 161 Federal St, Salem, MA 01970. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be on Thursday morning before the funeral from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
