Tereza Seferyan, 83 years, formerly of Swampscott, died Wednesday morning October 16, 2013 at the Aviv Center for Living in Peabody. Born in Ordu, Turkey, she was the daughter of the late Penyamin and Nargiz (Toramanyan) Seferyan. She moved to Istanbul's Shishly district at a very young age. She where she received several advanced College degrees. She came to the United States in 1970.
Miss. Seferyan was employed as a secretary with Salem Hospital for over 25 years. She enjoyed reading and knitting and had a passion for the ocean and beach. She was always up-beat, positive, happy and full of complements.
She is survived by her sister, Imasduhi Serefyan of Peabody, her nephew, Marty Takessian and his wife Leslie and their children Mitchell and Lucas, all of Milford, NH. She was also very close friends of Niki Celo and her husband Stefan of Salem. She was predeceased by her brother, Kegham Seferyan, and sister Dorothy (Dikranuhi) Takessian and her husband Marderos.
Miss Seferyan's visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
