Salem-Teresa Ann (Malionek) Jaworski, 89, of Salem, passed away quietly, Friday afternoon, March 1, 2019 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of Louis John Jaworski for 67 years. Born in Danvers on May 6, 1929, she was the middle child of 14, and cherished daughter of the late Paul C. Malionek of Poland and Tekla (Szczepaniak) Malionek, of Webster, MA. Teresa graduated from Salem High School, Class of 1946. Her yearbook quote was "How softly she speaks and how gently she smiles." Even at age 18, her words were an insight to how she would live her life.
Early in their married life, she and Louie owned a small variety store in Salem. They resided in Salem for most of her life, previously living in Hollywood and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Teresa was an operator for New England Telephone but gave up working to become a homemaker and devoted mother to three children they adopted from Catholic Charities. After their children were grown, she and Louie enjoyed a 9-month road trip of the Lower 48 states in an RV and a trip to Poland, where her father grew up.
Teresa was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody as a Eucharistic Minister and a participant in the Social Club and Choir.
She is survived by her loving husband Louis, their three cherished children and their spouses, Pamela and Paul Thompson of Ipswich, Paula Remillard and Mark Gates of Beverly, and James and Melissa Jaworski of Ipswich; seven dearly beloved grandchildren, Michelle and Rhiannan Thompson, Aleah Gates, Sarah and Nichole Remillard, Austin and Kelsey Jaworski; a dear niece who holds a special place in her heart, Donna Clark of New Hampshire; one sister Mary McHugh of Peabody, four brothers Joseph and Louis of Salem, Richard of Peabody, and Henry of Hyde Park; as well as many sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Andrew, Vincent, Stanley, John, Chester, Frank, and Adolf Malionek and Clara Flowers.
