Obituary

Sydney G. Jamieson, age 90, of Salem died on December 1, 2014 at the Lafayette Nursing Home, Marblehead following a long illness. Born in Lynn one of 11 children, he is the son of the late Hector and Johanna (MacSween) Jamieson. Mr. Jamieson was educated in Lynn schools, attended St. Mary's High School in Lynn and joined the United States Marine Corps. Following his discharge, he completed Technical Drafting School and became employed by GE for 40 years, working as a draftsman, until his retirement.

A longtime Martial Arts student, he was a Black Belt in Tai Kwon Do. Eventually he earned the privilege of becoming an instructor at the YI Institute of Tai Kwon Do.

Surviving him are his children, Margaret Campbell and her husband Richard of Freemont, NH, Brian Jamieson of Beverly, Brenda Thomann and her husband Richard of Salem, Mary Talbot and her husband William of Kingston, NH, Bradley Jamieson and his wife Maryellen of Rowley, Eileen "Dee Dee" Fraser and her husband Robert of Ipswich and Rosemary Martin and her husband William of Georgetown. He was the husband for 30 years of Margaret (Bradley) Jamieson. Sydney was one of eleven children survived by Hector "Frank" Jamieson, Johanna Mc Isaac and Ralph Jamieson. He also has 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Timothy and Gregory Jamieson.

His funeral services are at St. Andrews Church, 135 Lafayette St., Marblehead on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
