SALEM- Suzanne (Callahan) Rogers (87), of Salem, passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2023, at Salem Hospital. Born in Salem, Suzanne was the daughter of the late Ellen Dee (Shea) and Richard L. Callahan.

Growing up, Suzanne attended St. James School for the first 11 grades before transferring to Salem High School and graduating in 1953. She went onto attend Salem Hospital School of Nursing where she became a postpartum nurse and worked there for over 40 years. Over the course of her dedicated career, she was awarded several awards and honors for her studies and work.

Outside of her work, she was a dedicated wife and mother to her family. She met her husband William Rogers and the two got married at St. James Church in 1958. The two started their family in Salem before moving to Beverly where they shared 37 years of marriage together. She shared her time with her family and friends with many parties over the year at their home. She spent time gardening and reading between the busy days as a mother and as a nurse. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving mother and cherished friend to all who knew her.

Suzanne is survived by: her daughter Lynne Ricker and her husband Charles of Peabody, her son Michael Rogers and his wife Maureen of North Andover, her daughter Ellen Figueroa and her husband Gilbert of Beverly; her grandchildren Brianna Ricker, Tara Sherman and her husband Ian, William Rogers, Megan Figueroa, and Lyndsey Figueroa; her great grandchildren Fitzy and Sully.

Suzanne is predeceased by: her husband of 37 years William G. Rogers, her sisters Patricia April and Ellen (Lynne) McGrane; and her grandson Michael W. Ricker.

Visiting hours will take place on Tuesday January 31, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal St. Salem. A funeral service will be held following the visiting hours, follow by the burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, located at 226 North St. Salem, MA 01970.
