Salem……

Susan M. (St.Amand) Boucher, age 50, of Salem died Thursday afternoon, January 15, 2009 in Massachusetts General Hospital after being stricken ill on January 1, 2009. She and her husband, Paul Boucher had recently celebrated 30 years of marriage.

Born raised and educated in Salem the daughter of the late Raymond and Jennie (Hanewich) St.Amand, she was graduated from Salem High School in the Class of 1976. Susan had been employed by the former First National Grocery Store in downtown Salem and later by Sylvania Lighting.

After marrying and beginning a family, Sue was a loving and dedicated stay at home mom. She also operating a day care business as well as a catering business from her home for many years. When illnesses arose, she had cared for members of both her immediate and extended family over the years. More recently she has been employed by Mzioch Witham Catering.

A caring and compassionate person, she was very active in local fund raising activities and was the Vice President of the Knights of Columbus Veragua Council 76 Woman's Auxiliary in Salem. Mrs. Boucher was also a volunteer for the North Shore Medical Center annual Cancer Walk since its inception over 15 years ago.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, James Raymond Boucher and Christina Marie Boucher both of Salem; six brothers and sisters Nicholas St.Amand and his wife Paula of Beverly, Steven St.Amand and his wife Cheryl of Salem, John St.Amand and his wife Malvina of Beverly, Edward St.Amand of Salem, Judith Lee of Danvers, and Charles St.Amand and his wife Pam of Pepperell; her father in law Henry "Butch" Boucher of Salem; her brothers and sisters in law Dean Boucher and his wife Cookie, Jeff Boucher and his wife Tammy, Keith Boucher and his wife Pam and Dave Boucher and his wife Kathy all of Salem, Leslie Boucher of Gloucester and Nancy Quinitin and her husband Eric of Raynham and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 20 at 9:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M in St. James Church, 161 Federal St, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
