Marblehead …
Steve Hatt, age 40, loving husband of Michelle (Osman) Hatt, of Marblehead, died Friday, December 23, 2011 at the North Shore Medical Center, Salem after suffering a heart attack at home.
Born in Salem, the son of Arthur and Charlotte (Anderson) Hatt of Hamilton, Steve was raised in Hamilton, attending local elementary schools. He then continued his education at the former the Claude H. Patten Trade School (at the former United Shoe Machinery location) where Steve learned carpentry skills. He then was employed with Costa Construction for several years. He later worked with Jeff Pomilla Landscaping as well as Ronco Machinery until becoming affected by muscular dystrophy.
A dedicated husband and father, family came first always. Steve did have a curious nature about how things work and believed he could fix anything and if he didn't know how to, he learned. He was passionate about cars, car modification and car repair and when he was done he enjoyed driving them, especially his Camero.
A former golfer, Steve became a history buff more recently, focusing on World War II and military aviation. Fascinated by Bi-Planes, he was constantly at Beverly Airport for air shows as well as the annual visit of the Collins Foundation and their World War II planes.
In addition to his wife and parents, Steve is survived by two children, John Hatt and Nicole Hatt both of Marblehead and his brother Artie Hatt of Salem.
Steve's Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11AM. In the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. At the family's request, there are no visiting hours. For those who wish, contributions may be made in his memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, National Headquarters, 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718.
