Sharon H. (Hart ) McCabe passed away peacefully on Saturday August 10, 2013 following a lengthy illness.
Sharon was a dedicated municipal employee serving as a health inspector in the city of Salem as well as the town of Danvers. She was also employed as the Director of Public Health in the town of Saugus. Sharon enjoyed movies , traveling and spending time with her constant companion her dog Timmy.
Sharon was a graduate of Salem High School class of 1979 and attended Framingham State College and despite her illness received an Associates degree this past May from No. Shore Community College.
Sharon was loved by her family and friends and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving family; Thomas McCabe of Salem and their children Elayne P. McCabe of Salem, Paul T. McCabe and his wife Sara of Salem, Two sisters Janis Hart and her partner Medora Marriseau and their children Nancy and James of Seattle, Donna and her husband John Wholley and their twin boys Billy and Jake of Beverly, Her Aunt Janis Collins of Salem as well as many cousins. She is also survived by her father Edward Hart of California. Sharon was predeceased by her loving mother Elayne M. (Collins) Hart as well as her grandmother Marguerite Collins.
Sharon's Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (Cor of North St.) Salem on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, August 13 at the Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
