Revere
Sarah M Balmer, age 78, of Revere, died on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, with her dear friend Rische Fraser by her side at the Rosewood Nursing Home, Peabody, MA after her most recent struggle with cancer.
Sarah was born in Ayr, Scotland and predeceased by her father and mother, William T and Annie L (Kenny) Balmer. She was also predeceased by her former husband and her daughter, Kathyrn.
She left Scotland in her early twenties and lived in Canada for a short time. She then lived in California, Idaho, S Carolina and Florida. Following her close friend, Connie Fraser, to Massachusetts, she settled here first in Marblehead. Her last residence was the Jack Satter House in Revere. She loved living there and always said she wouldn't leave for a million dollars. It was all due to her love of the sea.
Sarah's family were her close friends living in Massachusetts who will miss her wit, strength and Scottish humor.
Her memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 am in St Peter's Episcopal Church, 24 St Peter St., Salem to be followed by a luncheon/tea. Interment will be private.
