Peabody……
Salvatore Azzolina, age 95 husband of Stefana (Ingemi) (Rosati) Azzolina of Peabody, died Monday afternoon in the Peabody Glen Nursing Home following a long illness.
Born in Boston the son of the late Arcangelo and Carmella (Borcina) Azzolina, he was raised and educated in Boston schools. During World War II, Mr. Azzolina was employed by the Boston Naval Shipyard contributing to the war effort. He later was employed by General Electric in Lynn for over 30 years until retiring in 1980. during his retirement he continued to work as a crossing guard for the City of Salem for several years.
Throughout his life he enjoyed dancing, travel and being with his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Angelo "Andy" Azzolina; two stepchildren Anthony G. Rosati and his wife Cecilia and Marie Pizzuti and her husband Donato all of Lynnfield; eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter Camile Martin.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North ST) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be immediately before the funeral from 10:00 AM to 11: 00 AM. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Roslindale.
