NORTH READING - Sadie Elizabeth Davis, age 74, died Saturday morning, June 19, 2021.  Born in Amesbury, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Randall) Davis.

Sadie attended the Day Program at Heritage Industries in Peabody until her retirement. Following retirement, she attended the day program at Shore Collaborative in Peabody.  Sadie enjoyed volunteering and did a lot of fund raising over the years.  She helped HAWK in Salem, the Food Pantry in Peabody and collecting for African Orphanages.  She was involved in filling back packs for the Beverly Public Schools and fund raising for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization.  She also enjoyed volunteering with North East Animal Shelter.

Sadie loved to travel.  She had been to Canada, Las Vegas, Florida, Cape Cod, Hampton and Salisbury Beaches and Foxwoods where she loved the slot machines.  Sadie loved making ceramics and in her younger days she enjoyed playing Bingo.  One of her highlights was attending dances with North East Residential Services that were held at the Vittore Rocci Post in Beverly and the Moose Lodge in Salem.  She also enjoyed the beauty of gardens and flowers.

Surviving her are her sister Kathryn Davis, her loving care givers, most especially Lisa Walsh, Arlene Souza, Tammy Galui, her guardian Robert Barry and her former nurse Diane Hinckley.  She was predeceased by her brother Chester Davis.

Her visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 1 pm to 3 pm.  Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11 am.  All are respectfully invited to attend and masks must be used while in the building.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Hawthorne for Sadie Davis, 450 Maple St, North East Residential Services, Hawthorne, MA  01937.
