DANVERS- Rosemarie (Ciulla) McGrath (68) of Salem passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on the afternoon of Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. Rosemarie was the loving daughter of the late Josephine (Montemagno) and Anthony Ciulla.

Rose was born in Malden, raised in Medford and attended Medford High School, graduating class of 1969. She worked at Boston Gas (National Grid) for over 30 years, retiring in 2009 as a Senior Clerk. The close friends that she made there became her second family. She raised her children in Everett, later moving to Salem.

Rose was a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend who treasured her family, embracing every moment with them and especially cherishing her role as Grandma. Rose loved cooking, sewing, slot machines, Salem Willows, and letting her grandchildren get away with everything. Rose will be remembered for her glowing smile and contagious laugh as well as for her selfless commitment to her friends and family. She could always make you laugh until it hurt and was the first person to comfort a friend in need.

Rose is survived by: her children Rosemarie O'Hearn and Harry McGrath Jr.; her grandchildren Dylan, Aidan and Peyton; and her sister Pam Ciulla. Rose is predeceased by her sister Katherine Rose Ciulla Massaro.

Visiting hours will take place on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal St. Salem.
