Obituary

Rosella "Rose" Marie Statezni, age 80, of Salem, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 after a courageous journey with Leukemia. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur Werner Statezni, with whom she shared 60 blessed years of marriage until his passing in 2021. Born in Saint Gabriel, New Brunswick Canada, she was the daughter of the late Arsene and Lina (Boucher) LeBlanc.

Rose moved to the United states in 1965, settling in Salem Massachusetts, where she and her husband happily spent their life raising their children. She was a devoted mother and wife but also a proud business woman. She attended North Shore Community College and received her associate degree in Business Management. In 1976, Rose officially became a United States citizen and began her career as an administrative assistant. She spent many years working for Osram Sylvania until retiring in 2010.

Rose could find the light and joy in all things. She was happiest while giving her time to others through volunteer work. She assisted numerous organizations throughout the Northshore, including St. Thomas Children's Closet, Peabody Soup Kitchen, and Danvers Hospice House. Her other greatest joy was making memories with her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her garden, exercising at her fitness center, reading, and traveling the world.

Rose was a strong devoted Catholic and a parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Peabody. Her love and faith in God were always very important and kept her strong throughout her life. Rose had a heart that was kind, caring, and ever giving to others.

Rose is survived by her loving sons, Daniel Statezni of Salem, MA, Arthur Statezni and his wife Lori of Newton, NH; her three adored grandchildren Molly, Matthew, and Ally Rose all whom she was so proud of; her siblings, Diane, Maria, Leona, Linda, the late Joseph and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Rose is predeceased by her son Gary Statezni and daughter Blanca Statezni who she loved deeply.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday February 17, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, located at 1 Margin St, Peabody, MA 01960 with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Salem. Relatives and friends are invited to meet the family at the Murphy Funeral Home at 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, located at 85 Federal St, Salem, MA.
