Obituary

Salem….

Rose Josephine DiIsso Tgettis. Born January 8, 1927 in Salem, MA. Died September 10,2009 in Marblehead. Rose was born, raised and educated in Salem where she lived almost her entire life.

Rose lived up to the name of her flower namesake which is a symbol of both love and beauty. Rose was a beautiful lady on both the inside and outside. On April 27, 1946 she married the love of her life, Charles Tgettis whom she would spend the next 63 years. They would always be seen together, especially at their signature walk in Salem Willows. Although she was from a large family of 10 children, Charles and Rose had a small family, one son, Stephen. Rose enjoyed watching her grandchildren , Kendra Hutchins, Amanda Tgettis and Hillary Tgettis grow. Rose lived to see her one great granddaughter, Madison. Rose enjoyed the love and support of her daughter in law, Susan Tgettis, her son Stephen and especially her husband and best friend, "Charlie" who loyally cared for her along with the dedicated staff of the Devereux House in Marblehead while battling her Alzheimer's disease.

Rose was known for her warm and friendly, cheerful personality by all who knew her. She had an infectious smile and was known for her great Mediterranean cooking and endless hospitality. She and Charles enjoyed the simple pleasures of their life with their physical as well as their spiritual family. Rose was an active member of the Peabody, MA congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for over sixty years and enjoyed sincerely providing spiritual comfort to others.

Friends and family are invited to share their experiences of Rose's love and encouragement with her family and friends at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, (cor of North St) Salem, MA between 4:00P.M. and 8:00P.M. on Sunday, September 13, 2009.
