Taunton – Formerly of Marblehead, Rose Gayle (Spinale) Mercier, age 86, died peacefully Saturday evening March 19, 2022.  Born in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rita (Lee) Spinale.  She was raised in the Gardner Park area of Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School.  She continued her education and graduated from the Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics.  She raised her six children in South Hamilton.

Rose was the owner and operator of American Beauty by Rose in Marblehead for many years.

Surviving her are her 6 children, Santino Spinale, Thomas J. Mercier II, Maria Collins, Christopher Mercier, Jeffrey Mercier, Melissa Whitten, 20 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother and sisters, Marie Aldous, Geraldine Mandra and Guy Spinale.

Visiting hours for Rose will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.  Masks are to be worn at all time inside the funeral home.  Her funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Ave, Marblehead on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.  Burial at St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.  For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.  For additional information or online guest book please call 978-744-0497 or visit www.MurphyFuneralHome.com .
