Obituary

Rose A. Osborn, 92, of Middleton, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at
the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield following a six-month battle with
cancer. Born and raised in Salem, Rose was the daughter of the late Frank Ruscio and
Filomena Ventura Ruscio. She was the widow of the late E. Joseph Guidi and
the late Erwin C. Osborn. Rose worked as a secretary for many years at what
was then Salem State College, the Hogan Regional Center, and the
Massachusetts Department of Education.
Rose was very proud of her Italian heritage. She was a communicant of St.
Mary's Italian Church in Salem where she was active in the Sons of Italy and the
Ladies' Sodality. After the closing of St. Mary's, which was devastating to her,
Rose became devoted to her adopted parish of St. Agnes in Middleton, where
she proudly served as a lector until her recent illness.
Rose had many passions in her life. She was a skilled seamstress, and loved
knitting, crocheting and other needlecrafts. She enjoyed crossword puzzles,
completing several each day, and later in life was a regular at several local bingo
games. But Rose was most passionate about her family, particularly the
extended Ruscio Family, and her greatest joy was spending time with her
grandchildren.
Rose was predeceased by her three brothers and their wives, Remo and Mary
Frances Ruscio, Romolo and Mildred Ruscio, and Robert and Irma "Tommie"
Ruscio, and her dear sister Regina Camarda and her husband John. She is
survived by her three sons and their wives, Thomas and Karen Guidi of Danvers,
Joseph and Diane Guidi of South Natick, and Ernest and Karen Osborn of Derry,
N.H., her grandchildren Jason Yarn and his wife Heather Horgan of New York
City, Lauren Guidi and Ryan Guidi of Danvers, Joseph Guidi and Julia Guidi of
South Natick, her great grandson Hal Connor Yarn of New York, and many
cherished nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016
at 11 AM at St. Agnes Church, 22 Boston Street, Middleton. Relatives and
