Peabody……

Rosa (Da Mota) Medeiros, age 87, wife of the late Manuel Medeiros of Peabody, died Monday evening in Beverly Hospital.

Born, raised and educated in Portugal, she was l the daughter of the late Manuel and Marie DeRecurreicao (Machado) Da Mota.

In 1969, age the age of 48, Mrs. Medeiros emigrated with her children to the United States shortly after being widowed. A parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, She settled in Peabody with her sister Maria Eugenio and became employed by the former New England Sportswear for four years. Following that, she then stayed home to care for her family.

Mrs. Medeiros is survived by four children Maria D. Fernandes and her husband Jose, Jose Medeiros and his wife Maria, Maria F. Botelho and her husband Paulino and Teresa Rocha and her husband Carlos all of Peabody; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers Manuel and Mariano Da Mota and two sisters Maria Eugenio and Ines Pimentel.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00A.M from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4-8 P.M. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Peabody.
