Rosa Garcia Rivera, passed away after a short Illness on September 1 ^st at Salem Hospital Surrounded by her loved ones.

Rosa was a long time resident of Salem, Massachusetts and worked at the Colonial Hilton/Sheraton Hotel in Wakefield, MA for 25 years.

She was very active in Salem's Hispanic Community serving multiple terms as president of the Las Antillas Club.  She worked tirelessly with area youths by keeping them involved in sports and other activities to keep them engaged and off the streets.  She also worked with city officials as a representative and advocate for Salem's Hispanic Community. She received multiple city awards for her volunteer work.

Rosa loved traveling, spending time with her family, and was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Rosa was survived by her life partner Fernando Contreras, her two daughters; Sayonara Reyes and Yaira Reyes Nicolet, her two grandchildren Jessica Cruz and Jordan Castillo, her siblings Ramiro Garcia and Catalina Garcia along with several nieces and nephews.
