Ronald M. "Ron" Lech, age 45, beloved husband for 16 years of Susan (Grant) Lech, of Newbury, died on Saturday following a diagnosis with a cardiac condition last year.
Born and raised in Salem, he was graduated from Salem High School in the Class of 1979, received his Bachelor's Degree from Salem State College in 1983, and received his M.B.A from the Suffolk school of business in 1991.
In 1987, he began his now 20 year career with Osram Sylvania Lighting, and from 1996 to 2003 relocated with Sylvania to Westfield, Indiana. Most recently he has been the Manager of the Financial Analysis Division on Endicott Street in Danvers.
A good "family man" and loving father he enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed being with his boys enjoying sports, fishing and teaching his sons to catch butterflies in their backyard. He was also an avid candlepin bowler in Salem.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Lech is survived by his two sons Matthew and Jonathan of Newbury, his mother Lucille (Puleo) (Lech) and her husband Bernard W. Corcoran of Salisbury, MA.; a brother Alfred S. and his wife Gerlyn Lech, Jr. of Campobello, SC; his mother and father in law Dorothy "Fran" and her husband Fred Grant of East Kingston, NH; a sister in law Karen and her husband Mark Cooke of Amesbury, MA; a brother in law Fred and his wife Jenny Grant of Haverhill; two nieces and three nephews, Amanda and Melissa Lech of Campobello, SC, Mark and Justin Cooke of Amesbury and Nicholas Grant of Haverhill and many aunts uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Ronald S. Lech, Sr.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. James Church, 161 Federal ST., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will in Oak Hill Cemetery, Newburyport.
