SALEM- Roger Albert Shephard (71), of Salem, passed away on Monday February 20, 2023. Born September 21, 1951in Chelsea, MA, he was the son of the late Hilda Louise (Bennett) and Elmer Clayton Shephard. Roger grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett High School and upon his graduation, he married the love of his life Jeanette Elizabeth (Lyons). Following their marriage, they started a family and moved to Malden. They would later move to Lynn before the they settled in Salem.

Roger worked for Western Electric in Watertown for 25 years. He later went onto working for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier in Middleton, MA before he retired. Outside of his work, Roger enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He was a member of the M.G. Car Club as he spent time in the summer traveling to car shows with his club and family. Above all, Roger was committed to providing for his family as they were the most important to him. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father.

Roger is survived by his daughter Erin E. Shephard of Lynn, his son Roger A. Shephard Jr. and Jennifer formally of Salem, his grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Roger is predeceased by his wife Jeanette Elizabeth Shephard (Lyons).

Visiting hours will take place on Sunday March 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal St. Salem.
