Robert L. Perkins, 66, of Newfield, Maine, passed away at his residence on September 10, 2023. He was born on April 18, 1957, to Martin P. Perkins Sr. and the late Norma L. Perkins.

He attended St. Mary's Grammar School in Salem and later went on to graduate from Salem High School. Bob was an energetic and creative machinist who worked on aircraft engine parts and excelled in his profession. He was an expert on creating efficiencies in the production of the parts he was tasked with producing. Bob's craft and creativity was also expressed in the development of specialized patterns utilizing his machinist skills. In his early years he was a part of the band called Witch with his brother Don and close friends Tony and Brendan. Bob wrote songs and was the lead singer. Bob was also a guy who had a big heart, he was always trying to help people out in one way or another. Bob was also a supporter of Pro-Life initiatives always advocating for the cause. He loved children and had a special relationship with a youngster named Silas who referred to Bob as Papa.

Robert is survived by his brothers David and Donald Perkins, both of Salem, and Martin Perkins Jr. of North Carolina. He is predeceased by his brother Edward Grondin and his sister Elizabeth Perkins.

A Funeral Mass for Robert will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem on Wednesday September 20, 2023, at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
