Robert T. Moulton, Jr passed away unexpectedly on Friday September 1, 2017 at Salem Hospital. Son of the late Robert Taylor Moulton MD, and Mildred Cowan (Watson) Moulton, Robert was born and raised in Salem.
Rob graduated from Brooks School in North Andover and then from Colby College where he received his BA in American History. Rob earned his Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of Rhode Island and early in his career worked for many historical library institutions on the North Shore.
He was a voracious reader and an accomplished American historian. For Rob, everything came alive in its historical context and meaning.
He was a humble and thoughtful individual and cherished his relationships with people. Most recently he worked as an associate at Stop & Shop in Swampscott where he formed many close friendships with his fellow workers.
Rob will be deeply missed by his sisters Emily and Bo, his brother Ben, his in-laws John, Graham and Ann, his nephews Matt, Reggie, Tucker and Chase, and his nieces Emily and Haley.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 9:30AM until 11AM at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street (corner of North St.), Salem, MA 01970. A funeral service will take place the same day at 11AM, also at the Murphy Funeral Home.
