IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
Kenneth Dullea
December 7, 1942 – February 25, 2025
Robert "Bob" Kenneth Dullea passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on February 25, 2025, in Naples, Florida.
Born on December 7, 1942, in Peabody, Massachusetts, Bob was a 1960 graduate of Salem High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1965. That same year, he began a distinguished 32-year career as a Senior Research Scientist at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in New London, Connecticut, where his expertise in underwater acoustic sonar systems earned national and international recognition.
On November 13, 1966, Bob married Jeanne Marie (Bedard) Dullea of Salem, Massachusetts. They settled in Niantic, Connecticut, where they raised their two sons, Robert Gregory and Mark David—both of whom, like their father, graduated from Northeastern University.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bob had a deep love for music of all genres and was a devoted follower of Boston sports teams. He was an avid reader with a passion for travel, which he enjoyed almost as much as a good glass of red wine.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Robert Michael and Palma Dullea of Salem, Massachusetts, as well as his brothers, Carl and David; his sister, Deanna; and his beloved grandson, Jacob. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Jeanne; his son Robert "Bobby" and his wife, Miqelle, along with two of their children, Kiernan and Roan; and his son Mark and his wife, Danielle. He is also survived by his youngest sister, Palma Smiarowski, and her husband, John.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation in honor of Bob's beloved grandson, Jacob Quinn DeMeis-Dullea. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of Avow Hospice in Naples, Florida.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Murphy's Funeral Home in Salem, Massachusetts. A reception will follow a private interment on Friday, March 7, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at a location to be determined.
