Robert A.Faulkner (Bob), age 79, loving husband for 55 years of Jane (Norris) Faulkner died on Monday evening, September 15, 2008 in Marblehead. He died surrounded by his family, after a long illness.
Bob was born, raised and educated in Rochester, NY, the son of the late Warren L. and Rachel (Kennedy) Faulkner. He also attended Kimball Union Academy, Mitchell College and Babson College.
Bob began his career with Ingalls Cronin, Co. in Boston in 1952, where
he was Vice President of Sales. He was the founder and President of
Publishers Supply, Inc., EDP Supply, and Badge Supply with operations in New Hampshire and Florida. He expanded into commercial real estate
development, building two industrial warehouse complexes in Salem, NH
during the 1980's.
Bob will be remembered as a man with many interests and many friends.
He loved being on the water, playing tennis, skiing, Sunday night
bridge, gardening and traveling with friends and family.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by four children; Katharyn
Santoro and her husband Anthony of Marblehead, Robert Andrew Faulkner
II and his wife Amy of West Newbury, Susan Wilkens and her husband Peter of Marblehead, Thomas Faulkner and his wife Kellie of Swampscott
and nine grandchildren; Benjamin, Nicholas, and Drew Rachel Santoro, Robert Andrew III and Elizabeth Faulkner, Jane Grace and Sam Peter Wilkens, Edward
and Stephen Faulkner; a sister Ethel Pauline Handy (Diddy) of
Rochester, NY and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Warren Leslie Faulkner, Jr. and two
sisters Edna Daly and Jane Obdyke.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on, Saturday, October 18th at 1:00 P.M. at
the Corinthian Yacht Club, 1 Nahant St., Marblehead, MA. Family and
friends are kindly invited to attend. The Interment will be private. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's
Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633.
