Robert F. Cummings  (81) of Salem passed away with his loved ones by his side on Sunday April 8, 2018. Robert will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Robert was born and raised in Salem by his parents James and Margaret Cummings. Robert graduated from St John's Prep where he went onto attend Boston College and got his masters at Babson College.

After graduation, he went onto become a certified public account while also joining the National Guard to serve his country domestically.

Outside of his work, he met the love of his life Patricia where they shared their life together for many years. He shared his passion for the Red Sox with her and their family. Robert will be missed most for his quick smile and generous spirit and his amazing sense of humor.

Robert leaves behind: his loving wife Patricia and her children Kathleen Meehan and Kevin Piecewicz; his children Robert and Lauren Cummings; Jane and Tom Watson; Valerie and Stephen Flaherty; Todd Cummings; and Stephen Cummings; as well as 11 grandchildren. Robert is predeceased by his brother Jimmy Cummings and Jimmy's wife, Mary.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held Friday April 13, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal St. (corner of North St.) Salem, MA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 14, 2018 at 11:30AM at St Thomas the Apostle Parish, located at 1 Margin St Peabody.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kevin Piecewicz, Trustee of Maggie and Liam Meehan, 60 Orne St., Salem, MA 01970.
