Richard J. Stycko, at the age of 60, passed on Wednesday morning November 22, 2017 at his home. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Anthony H Styczko and Regina M, (Zielski) Styczko. Richard had been a lifelong resident of Salem and graduated from Salem High School.

Richie spent his final years as a digger for Bridge St Sports ad a care taker for Regina, his mother, until her passing in June of 2016. He was a frugal person, but was a strong advocate for charity, particularly when it came to children, veterans, and the elderly. He prided himself when it came to finding toys for Toy for Tots or anything he could donate to the veterans during his yard sale excursions. He was a member of many local social clubs including the P.L.A.V. and the VFW here in Salem.

Richard is survived by; his siblings Paul Styczko of Peabody, Thomas Styczko of Salem, Joseph Styczko of Salem, Elizabeth Styczko of Beverly, and John Styczko of Gloucester; his nieces Amanda Powers and Nicole Taylor, and his nephew, to whom was like a son to him, Robert Styczko.

A memorial service will be held for Richard on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 1 to 3PM at the family's residence, 17 Osgood St., Salem, MA 01970.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, Salem.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Toy's For Tots Foundation, The Cooper Center, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA  22172-1776 or to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth Street NW,  Washington,DC20006-3517.  For additional information or online guest book please call 978-744-0497 or visit www.MurphyFuneralHome.com.
