IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard
Picone
August 6, 1931 – September 11, 2019
Richard J. Picone 88 of Danvers passed on 9/11/2019 after a brief illness. Born in Beverly August 6, 1931 to Joseph and Rena (Modugno) Picone, Richie spent his 49 year career with New England Telephone as a creative and gifted engineer. While on the job he saved a one-year-old as well as a co-worker thanks to CPR training and was awarded a plaque and recognition in the local papers. Throughout his life he spread joy through building. He famously created the Putnamville Village, a Christmas display on his lawn enjoyed by thousands. Over 15 years he added built-to-scale replicas including a 9/11 Worcester firefighters memorial, running train, gazebo, Ferris wheel, houses, church, and BelAir diner.
Richie is survived by his wife Joan (Zarella) and two daughters, Donna Picone of Danvers and Gail Corsetti of Nashua NH and Florida.
