Upon his graduation, Rick enlisted in the Army where he served from 1986 to 1989 as a Military Police Officer. During that time, Rick worked towards getting his MBA at Babson College and graduated in 1998. He went onto work for Price Waterhouse Coopers, Fidelity, and John Hancock. Over the years he went onto work in leadership positions in various companies as he was passionate and committed to his work. In his later years, Rick worked for Moderna Therapeutics, Aileron, and most recently Oncorus as their CFO.

Outside of his work, Rick loved spending time with his family. They spent time in the mountains on camping and ski trips together and Rick always made sure to take photos to capture their memories together. In recent years, Rick found a passion for fitness as he participated in various triathlons and later moved onto Ironman Competitions.
