MARBLEHEAD:   Richard Forbes, 75, passed away on March 8, 2017, while vacationing with his wife, Louise (Starzyk) Forbes, in St. Martin.

Born on July 25, 1941, Mr. Forbes was son of the late Charles and Ann (Ridge) Forbes. Born in Lynn and raised in Marblehead, he was a 1959 graduate of St. Johns Prep.  After graduating from high school, Mr. Forbes enlisted in the U.S. Army where he remained until1963.

After his Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Mr. Forbes attended and later graduated from Boston College.    Upon graduation, Mr. Forbes worked as a Certified Public Accountant for the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement in 2013, after a 43 year career.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Forbes leaves his three daughters:  Alison McKay and her husband U.S. Naval Commander Duncan McKay of Kittery, Maine,  Meghan Forbes of Marblehead and Lyndsay Forbes and her husband, Christopher Labbe of Dorchester.

Mr. Forbes loved to vacation, especially to St. Maartin and at the family's summer home in Maine.

Mr. Forbes is survived by his brother, Ken and his wife Maribeth of Marblehead and sister Elizabeth Forbes of Marblehead.

Visiting hours will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, March 21 ^, 2017 at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street (Corner of North St.), Salem, MA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Star of the Sea, Marblehead on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 11AM.   Burial will take place immediately after Mass at the Waterside Cemetery, West Shore Drive, Marblehead, MA.
