Marblehead……

Rhonda L. (Hillard) McCarthy, age 56, beloved wife of Fred McCarthy, of Marblehead died Saturday morning in North Shore Medical Center, Salem following a long illness.

Born and raised in Connersville, Indiana the daughter of Matilda A. (Narvell) (Hillard) McMahon of Sun City, FL and the late Lawrence J. Hillard she attended elementary school in Connersville. While in eighth grade her family moved to Toledo, Ohio where she was graduated from Maume, High School in the Class of 1969. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Class of 1973, she was employed as a Sales Manager in the Confectionary Foods and Candy Industry by many companies including Border Foods, who recognized her for her achievements.

Rhonda was a caring and generous person who easily made friends wherever she went. She was devoted to her family and valued her friends. A person of strong religious convictions Mrs. McCarthy read her daily psalms and was an active member and usher of St. Andrew's Church, Marblehead. She also volunteered with several committees including baking and cooking for church fairs and participating as a volunteer with the Church for My Brother's Table.

In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. McCarthy is survived by a daughter Shannan Ashley McCarthy of Marblehead; two step children Kevin McCarthy and his wife Kim of Tyngsboro and Kathleen Ann Czizik and her husband James of Lincroft, NJ; a brother Michael Wayne Hillard and his wife Cremelda of Randolph; one granddaughter Kaitlin McCarthy of Tyngsboro and a nephew Joshua Hillard.

Rhonda was also beloved by three sisters in law, a brother in law, two uncles, an aunt and many nieces and nephews.
