Rene A Ouellette, age 92, husband of the late Margaret (Jackson) Ouellette and the late Rosalie (Barbarino) Getchell-Ouellette died on July 27, 2014 at the Canton Nursing Center, Canton GA following a brief illness. Born in Salem, MA the son of the late Alfred and Blanche (Berube) Ouellette, he was raised and educated in Salem schools. During World War II, Mr Ouellette proudly served in the United States Army in several battles including D-Day He was awarded the Purple for his service to country Following his discharge, he became employed by the United States Post Offic in Lynn, MA where he was employed for 25 Years as a postal clerk until his retirement.
Mr. Ouellette was a devout Catholic and a member of St Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody were he been a member and Past President of the Holy Name Society until moving to.Georgia .He was also a member of the D.A.V Post 84 in Salem and the Franco American War Veterans of Lynn.
He is survived by a son, Charles Ouellette and his wife Marion of Canton, GA, a brother Conrad Ouellette of Campbell, CA; three grandchildren Michael C. Deanna R and Alicia A. Ouellette and five great grandchildren, Ashley, Alexis, Logan, Mason and Evan. He was predeceased by a son, William H. Ouellette.
Private funeral services will be held in Georgia followed by Graveside Funeral Services at St. Mary's Cemetery, 256 North St, Salem at 11:00 A.M, on Wednesday, July 30.
