Salem……
Rene M. Bernard, age 42 of Salem, died Monday December 7, 2009.
Rene was born and raised in Salem, the son of Henry L. and Lorraine E. (Boulay) Bernard, Jr. of Salem. He was graduated as a graphic artist from the North Shore Regional Vocational School in Beverly in the Class of 1985. Since then he was employed in the printing business for 18 years by Minuteman Press in Beverly, until becoming ill in September of 2007.
He enjoyed both freshwater and saltwater fishing but his true love was ridding his A.T.V He was a member and past Secretary of the New England ATV Club and spent his free time in Western Mass to ride with his many friends. Heavy Metal and Rock 'n Roll Music was also a large part of Rene's life. His mantra was to enjoy life, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Rene is survived by three sisters, Michelle and her husband Peabody Fire Fighter Armando Teixeira of Peabody, Catherine P. Bernard of Salem, and Deborah Bernard of Haslet, TX and a large extended family.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 9:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. James Church, 161 Federal St., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
