Regina M. (Zielski) Styczko, 85, of Salem, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2016, surrounded by her devoted family. She was the wife of the late Anthony H. Styczko and was a lifelong resident of Salem. A graduate of Salem High School, Regina was the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Jozefa (Koscinska) Zielski.
A loving mother of seven, Regina worked for many years outside the home, most recently at Salem Hospital. She was a member of the St. Joseph Society (PRCU), in Salem, where she was active in traditional Polish cooking. She also loved creating Polish dishes for her large family and was an avid fan of word puzzles and old movies. She especially loved her children and grandchildren and was very active in their lives and was proud of all their endeavors.
Regina is survived by her children, Paul (and Ellen O'Malley) of Peabody; Richard, Thomas, and Joseph of Salem; Elizabeth Powers of Beverly; and John (and his wife Carol) of Gloucester. Three grandchildren, Robert Styczko of Salem, Amanda Powers of Beverly, and Nicole Styczko of Peabody; and three step-grandchildren, Thomas Sylvester and his wife Stephanie of Harrisburg, PA, Daniel Sylvester and his wife Sammantha of Tyngsboro, and Bethany Sylvester of Hawaii; a step-great-granddaughter, Addison Sylvester, of Harrisburg, PA; a sister, Mary, of Sweet Home, Oregon; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Regina was predeceased by her daughter, Joanna, and seven brothers and sisters, Ben, Sophie, Joe, Alyce, Boley, Hank, and Millie.
Visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Salem, on Wednesday June 29, 2016 from 4-8PM. Funeral and Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Regina's memory to All Care Hospice 210 Market St, Lynn, MA 01901.
